Double Points

"Earn double points for your class during the Spirit Week dress-up days by bringing in a food item for the Area Food Pantry. You may bring in more than one item, but only one extra point per day per person is allowed."

Senior Float Building (Run 9-29 through 9-30)

The next senior float building will be Sunday from 1-5pm at Mr. Stoneback's house. Please see Mr. Stoneback today if you need directions. Seniors are encouraged to come whether they can stay the whole time or just work for a little.

Monday is U of M/MSU Day (Run 9-28 through 9-30)

Monday marks the beginning of Homecoming 2011. On Monday, Students who wear either U of M or MSU colors as a major component of their outfit will earn valuable spirit points for their class.

Horatio Alger Scholarship
Awards range from $2500 to $20,000. Must be a graduating senior, intend to pursue a bachelor's degree, show financial need ( preferably $50,000 or lower adjusted gross income) be involved in co-curricular and community service, have a minimum 2.0 cumulative gpa and be a U.S. citizen. Sophomore Banner Making

Attention all sophomores, the sophomore class will be making its spirit banner for the Homecoming assembly on Monday, Oct. 3rd from 3:00 to 6:00 in room 124. The more sophomores who come and help the more spirit points are given! So stop by room 124 and help us win the spirit competition!

Sophomore Student Council

Those sophomore student council members who have not picked up their bracelets to sell, must see Mrs. Dowd in room 124 to get them ASAP!

Sophomore student council members are selling glow in the dark PHS Spartan bracelets for Homecoming. Bracelets are 2 dollars each and they really glow! See any sophomore student council member or Mrs. Dowd in room 124 to purchase.

COLLEGE VISIT

A representative form Western Michigan University will be here on Wednesday, Oct. 12th @ 8:00. They will be offering "Gold Rush" this year. This is where students have the opportunity to receive an admissions decision within 48 hours. If interested, sign-up at the Counseling Office.

Sophomore PowderPuff practice will be held Thursday after school until 5:00. Meet at 3:15 outside the High School Gym. If you are unable to attend please see Mrs. Hunt.

JV Girls Powder Puff

JV girls powder puff practice, Sunday October 2 at 10:00 a.m. by baseball fields. If you can't make it stop by and see Mr. Dubay.

Sophmore Class Shirts

Sophmore class shirts are for sale and they are $15. See Vaughn Hartley or Aimee Anderson to order. All orders and money must be turned in by Wednesday.

PEER Mentor Meeting (Run 9/23 - 9/28)

There will be a PEER Mentor Meeting on Thursday, Sept. 29 at 7:30 a.m. in the Multi Media Room. All current PEER Mentors, as well as anyone interested in becoming a PEER Mentor should attend.

Convertibles Needed (Run 9-21 through 9-28)

Student council is in desperate need of convertibles for the Homecoming Parade. If your family has one that they are willing to donate for the evening, please see Mr. Stoneback or Derek Daniels.

A.C.T. Test Preparation Workshop (Run 9/21 - 9/28)

SVSU will be hosting an A.C.T. test preparation workshop on Saturday, November 19 from 9 am – 3:30 p.m.. Cost is $85.00. If you are interested in attending, please stop by the Counseling Office to receive registration information.

Freshman Class Representatives & ALL PHS Freshman!

Seniors

Seniors - If you didn't receive an information letter from the Multimedia class at orientation, stop by Mrs. Wehner's room (#131) and pick one up. We are starting to collect photos and videos for the senior send-off video and the letter explains what we're looking for. Start bringing in photos now so you're not left out of the video. Don't wait for your friends to do it for you. Pictures can be put in the envelope outside her room or can be emailed to phsmedia@pasd.org

How to Survive College Preparation Program (Run 9/14 - 9/21)

The Bay Commitment College Access Network is sponsoring a program on September 29 @6:00 to help students and parents better understand how to go to college and how to afford it. If you are interested in attending, please stop by the Counseling Office for registration information.

Wendy's Heisman

Wendy's is looking for the next class of remarkable students who excel in academics, athletics, and community involvement. To be eligible students must have at least a "B" grade point average, participate in at least one of the 27 sports officially sanctioned by the National Federation of High School Associations, and demonstrate active involvement in his/her community. Winners will receive recognition during ESPN's national telecast of the presentation of the College Heisman Memorial Trophy, a Wendy's Heisman Trophy and patch, $10,000 for your high school, and a $500 Wendy's gift card. Homecoming Guest Passes (Run 9-6 through 10-5)

Any student wishing to bring a guest to the Homecoming Dance must pick-up and complete a guest pass from Mrs. Lavrack in the high school office. Completed guest passes must be returned by Wednesday, October 5 at 3:10pm. Late guest passes will not be accepted. Middle school students and individuals over the age of 20 will not be allowed to attend the dance.
